Reflection questions for your team meeting

Handwritten notes with numbered lists

Regular reflection improves feedback culture and strengthens team identity. Teams that deliberately take time to talk about their own collaboration foster better communication, sharpen their problem-solving skills and grow together.

For a reflection round to succeed, not much is needed – but the right questions. They open the conversation, gather different perspectives and direct attention to what often gets lost in everyday work.

Questions for the reflection round

The following questions are a selection. Pick out only a few per round – depending on the occasion, the mood and the time available:

  • What would you have needed from your team this week?
  • What was your highlight this week?
  • What are you proud of this week?
  • Which obstacles did the team overcome this week?
  • What are you grateful for this week?
  • How draining was this week for you?
  • What did you learn that was new this week?
  • Do you feel seen and heard?
  • Do you get into a state of flow at work?

The questions address personal highlights and challenges as much as motivation, energy, values and working conditions. Bit by bit, an honest picture emerges of how the team is really doing.

Tip: reflection works above all through regularity. A fixed, short slot in the team meeting achieves more than a single large retrospective.
